    Variable-Speed fan for C-1s

How would one go about getting one of those fancy thermo-control radiator fans that free wheels above a certain speed. They're standard equipment on most vehicles today. I'm not even sure how they work. It would free up HP and cut down on fan noise.

    Thx for any assistance!

the gm service replacement fan clutch( ask for one for a midyear small or large block at the goodwrench counter) will almost certainly work although i personally haven't tried it. good luck, mike) ps. state year of c-1 for future posts

      My Dad did the ultimate...

When we lived out in the country he simply removed the fan. Never was a problem. Coudn't get away with that today!

-Back in the 60's thermo clutch fans were sold as performance equipment- All Ford 427s had them.

        Michael,
I put one on my '56 in the early '60's. After joing NCRS, I took it off. Didn't notice any difference (noise, temp, horsepower) one way or the other. Regards,
