    England Corvette Show

Recenty we had the pleasure of attending the 2004 CCC-UK Nationals held at Knebworth House near Stevenage, about 30 miles north of London, England.

Here is a few of the photos I took there.

I can't get the link to work. The infamous Page cannot be displayed.

I tried playing with the URL, but still nothing.

Some times you have to copy the link and paste to the address.

--------I have to say that it appears that NCRS of England has a bit more fun than "stock or dont bring it" attitude that sometimes seems prevalent on these shores. No offence intended as I know the NCRS mandate, but rarely do we see somebody bring out a much modified car here even if its just transportation to the meet!
--------The above is not intended to cause controversy, just an observation..........Bill S

The fine art of keeping a mouth shut

                        Bill,

Several years ago, I had my race car at the Winter Meet in the swap area to sell. It wasn't a restored vintage racing piece, it was a regular SCCA race car.

If you had been at my spot, and heard the comments made to me, and the comments they didn't think I heard, you'd be shredding and burning your NCRS card (if you have one).

Granted that is not the attitude of all who join NCRS, but when a non-member or a new member shows up with his 6 taillights and flared fenders, which is his pride and joy, and gets similar comments, he leaves and never returns.

Not everyone who steps into an NCRS event is a full point Top Flight guy. Not even everyone here has all of their cars in that condition. And the new guy is even less likely but is confronted with a attitude, then they leave.

That is why membership isn't growing like some think it should and why we don't see non-stock cars around.

A friend with me, who is new to Corvettes, was ready to punch half of them out. My thirty years of experience with Corvettes let me ignore the idiots.

But not everyone coming to join has that experience. They are more like my friend. Not everyone wants a critique of their car. They like to hear "nice car", not "you really screwed this one up".
