    Are You Invoking...

My name in vain??!! "Kinder and gentler Chuckles

Actually, the description "Driver" should have no connotation of worth one way or the other. Maybe it means different things to different people. To me, it means a nice Corvette (looks like Top Flight from 30 feet) which, for whatever reason, you are taking no particular pains to restore or maintain in original condition, and with which you don't mind running up the odometer having fun. I suppose it could be an abused 67 big block convertible that Top-Flighted three years ago.

If such a car has been submitted for judging, you clearly may be in the wrong stadium, but polite, tactful bystanders should still keep their dismay to themselves.

Re: The fine art of keeping a mouth shut

You know, something my parents always tried to teach me, I hope I honor them by living the lesson, is "If there is nothing nice to say, then it's best not to say anything at all, but always offer a smile!"

We're Americans. That means we come from all walks of life with different approaches. I believe that's what makes us a strong and compassionate country.

If I get negative criticism from a few and the majority are accepting of me and my resources or lack thereof, then I'll just gravitate to the understanding members.

As a newcomer and non-member (yet,) I think very highly of the folks on this message board and am very thankful for the people who make this organization possible to share information. I just hope I have enough to offer in contribution.

      Thank you NCRS.

There is a Chinease expression that is older than all of us:

"The empty gong rings the loudest"

                  Re: Never Mr. Sangerhausen

Maybe I should start signing off with something like "Rust Belt Rice" or "Chuck From Up North" A.K.A. Up Chuck?..... Um, then again maybe not

How about ChucksteR (R for Rice get it?)

Hey Chuck, do you ever migrate north to oh say, the Carlisle P.A area occasionally?

                  Just curious.

Only occasionally, Chuckster, and probably not this year. Coming Soon!!! Maybe 2005. How about Cuidad Juarez??!! Do you ever get down there. Maybe we could hook up at the old Kentucky Bar, sip a couple of cheap Tecates with lime and salt, and trade restoration war stories.

Too bad about Carlisle, 2005 isn't that far away, I'll look forward to it!

I'll plan on a drive your way when "Vetta" (my wife's nickname ) is completed.

Texas should be quite lovely (not to mention comfortable ) in the fall.
