    C2 distributor

Last year (how time flies) I made a post regarding selection of a distributor for my specific small block set up. I received replies from Bill C. and Duke recommending that I shoot for the specs on the 1111069 distributor ('65 327-365 HP).
    Questions:
    1) Is there a GM part # associated with this distributor #?
2)Where should I be looking for this ? I have searched numerous GM Performance Parts sites in vain.
3)Is there a source for advance curve specs for the different distributors? My surf/search turned up nada.

i may be off base with this response, but the GM part number, 1111069, is the GM part number for the 64-65 w/Sp. H/Per (327) (exc. T. Ign) as listed in Group 2.361 "Distributor, Ignition" of the Corvette Parts Catalog. Unable to help wit other questions. Hope this is what the question was.

        Steve----

The GM part number for the 1111069 distributor is GM #1111069. That part number will be found on the distributor ID band, if the band is still present and/or hasn't been changed.

The specs that I have for this distributor are as follows:

        centrifugal advance:

advance starts---1 degree @ 450 RPM (DISTRIBUTOR DEGREES AND SPEED)
        full advance----12 degrees @ 1175 RPM ( " " " " )

        vacuum advance:

inches of vacuum to start----3 to 5"
maximum advance-------------8 DISTRIBUTOR degrees @ 8" Hg vacuum

That is correct, one of the best, if not the best factory performance curves ever.

Just about any tach drive single point distributor can be set up close to the 069. Start with a NAPA/Echlin VC1810 vacuum can, which matches the specs of the original Delco 236 can. Then check the distributor for total centrifugal advance, which usually varies between 20 and 30 crankshaft degrees (10-15 distributor degrees).

Set the initial timing so that initial + total centrifugal = 36-38.

Select springs and weights to get the centrifugal in as fast as possible without detonation. You can buy weight and spring kits through the hot rod parts outfits.

                    Help for the helpless

The distributor that I have now is a '62 dual point (converted to electronic) w/no vacuum advance, and I want the vacuum advance. I have searched many online sources (GM parts, GM Performance parts, Goodwrench parts, Jegs, Summit, etc) for the part # 111069 (or similar) but no luck. Any suggestions?

Assuming the 069 was ever available as a service part it is probably long discontinued. Even a used dist. with an 069 tag may not be the real McCloy or may have been modified.

Just buy any tach drive single point distributor, overhaul/blueprint it, and set it up to 069 specs as I outlined in my previous post.

Steve you may find a distributor you can use at www.contemporarycorvette.com. The advertise used tach drive distributors for a reasonable price. The later models 70-74 have a replaceable nylon button for the cross gear.
