I am a fairly new NCRS member with an 90% original '81. I plan to drive it, enjoy it, make a few modifications, but keep everything so that one day it could be restored to original. I have to say that sometimes I smile and think "man these NCRS guys are anal". However, that's their right and this organization was created specifically for this purpose. I feel lucky to associate with them and gain from the best Corvette minds on the Web. I have to say, you offended my sensibilities, so I can imagine how the diehard NCRSers felt.
I follow two forums: this one and C3VR.com. You might want to try the latter, as it is much oriented toward those that just want to enjoy their Vette without worrying about every detail of originality. Both groups are great guys...
