ok this is a 2 part question, half belongs on the tech board, and the other on the forum. i am declaring lazziness, and posting both here. what are they going to do arrest me? anyway, here is the dilema, i have been looking for a convertible body for this 69 rolling chassis i built. i want to have my restored 69 coupe, that is original for the judges, and i want to have my 69 roadster, that will be the way i want it, you know daytona yellow, l-88 hood, fuel injected 383 stroker, hooker side pipes, anyway you get the point. this body i found has no title, nor does the chassis i built. the body was ohio registered. how does some one in michigan turn this into a legally titled car? next, how much should i pay for this thing. bare body, no damage, includes doors, hood?, front clip. has some windshield pillar rot, otherwise soild cage. what is it worth? anybody else have something i should look at?

Yes,
another car. Sounds like more trouble than it's worth- Top

OK, I'll be more positive this time.
I POSITIVELY think you should look for another car, and it POSITIVELY sounds like more trouble than it's worth. Sorry that's the best I can do.
No title? Cage rot? Spending lots of money to make another non-numbers matching custom? Maybe Poor Team can help you out. Call George Rogers, he's got their number- Top

Re: OK, I'll be more positive this time.
your going to bring me to tears. it actually wont be bad. numbers matching, chassis, driveline, and it will be a 1969 body. so it will have different exhaust, a l-88 hood, an original one at that. this dosent sound much different than alot of the 69 corvettes i have seen. and cage rust, it seems to be getting harder and harder to find one that dosen't have some. anyway that does not matter to me, this cars soul purpose will be getting me back and forth to work in style, and ruining the day of mustang owners that i pull up next to on my way there and back. but thats not the issue, the title thing is. how big of a deal is it to get one? is it even possible? and how much is a bare body shell worth?- Top

Re: AND
value for this car isnt even a topic for me. this car will be for driving. i have been driving my 85 as daily driver for 10 years now. i am board with it. i dont want to drive a freshly restored one everyday for obvious reasons. that is this cars reason for living. it will be a sweet looking ride, but i wont have to worry about it getting rained on, and it will be alot more fun than my 85. with that out of the way, what is a complete body shell worth. whether it be this one or something with a title?- Top

I have to agree with Mike, 1 nice Corvette = 3 or 4 project cars.- Top

Re: 1969 convertible body
Scott,
I am also in Michigan and am familiar with it's motor vehicle laws. In the case of the 1969 project you are contemplating, the easiest way is to apply for a Michigan ASSEMBLED TITLE, when it is completed. You will be required to have either a bill of sale or receipts for all the parts, either own now or at one time owned and scrapped the car or cars the parts came from.
The completed car will have to pass a state safety inspection, when it is completed. All of these items, will have to be filed with the application for an ASSEMBLED VEHICLE TITLE. In Michigan, an ASSEMBLED vehicle is EXEMPT from emissions testing. I hope this helps.- Top
