    Re: What would I pay?

    Scott,

You have the right idea. The price to offer is for what parts are actually left on the car, as you are essentially just buying parts. If the body has a VIN and legal title, it usually adds $1000-$1500 to the price, from what I have seen. Just BE SURE to get AT LEAST a BILL OF SALE or RECEIPT WITH THE SELLERS NAME AND ADDRESS for the body, or you will have problems applying for title, as there would be no way to prove where the body shell came from.

        They're out there...

It took several months of active searching, but Greg finally found a suitable starter 'shell' for his hot rod project. Complete with factory VIN & trim tag, clean title, outer body, frame and not much more. You can see pictures of it on our web site. This is a '65. During the search there were plenty of C3's with title, no motor / trans etc. Check mortec.com hemmings and some of the other online places which deal in parts. I have a link to them on my web page too. Good Luck. ~Juliet
