I have been experiencing an intermittant problem with the choke butterfly sticking (sometimes open, sometimes closed) on my 1960. THis would result in hard starting at the most in-opportune times. When I would attempt to repeatedly manually manipulate the butterfly open and closed, I would find that it would stick very often open or closed. I changed out the choke housing, stove spring and cover, with no apparant improvement. Last night while again beginning to remove the housing, I noticed that when I loosened the 3 screws that retain the stove cover, the binding of the butterfly was eliminated.Choke now works fine! Anyone else have this problem before, and is there a reference book somewhere that I can purchase which may contain a compilation of known difficulties and remedies specific to these models of car? God, I spent a lot of time chasing this one!!!
