    53, 54 Hardtop, PLASTICON???

    I have purchased, with some other parts, what I believe is a 53 to 55 hardtop. How can I identify it, is it gm? If someone truly needs it for themself, please contact me.

      This is the plasticon top on my 55 ( big back window) Scotch top has a small window and then there was the bubble top , which I also have..You see the two tops on E-bay Quit often.

          Thanks Roy, That looks like what I have, it has different looking latches inside and the weatherstrips are missing. I will check tonight if it has a rain gutter, I don't think it does.

              To add to what Roy has said, there are/were no "factory" hardtops from 53 to 55, only aftermarket. Roy's is a Plasticon, the other common fiberglass top is Scott. Then there are the clear and/or green tint "bubble" top, made, I believe by Bell. Chuck

                  Thanks Chuck, I guess its between a plasticon and a scotch. I am leaving now for my barn And I'll be able to check the top.

                      My top looks just like Roy's. But on the side behind the window glass on each side there is a button(?) covering the screw for the latch, is this correct?

                          No it was only their LOGO on the button
