Is there any difference between a 65 and a 66 frame if the 2 were side by side? Can't make out the serial number. Thank you

Re: 65-66 frame
mounting of the 4 Muncie shifter differs. 65's bolted it to the tranny. 66's bolted it to the crossmember, if my febile mind is working.i don't think the 65 frame will be drilled for the shifter mounting bracket. check the assembly manuals. good luck, mike- Top

Here's a couple of items
In addition to Mike's indicators, even though you can't make out the VIN derivative stamp, the rearward location (of the 2 sites) should at least give an idea of early [over the shock upper mount bracket = early to mid '65] vs. late '65; all '66 [just ahead of the rear body mount].
Also, brake line (front-to-rear) was on top side of frame rail (check holes) vs. on upper inside edge in '66. As part of this, there is no brake line clip hole at the rear frame kick-up- Top

Re: 65-66 frame
Mike,
I've considered installing the later style frame bracket on my 66 dut can't bring myself to drill the required holes in the frame.
