I am restoring a '65 396 coupe for judging. What is the correct way to restore the front coil springs, the front and rear sway bar to achieve the correct apperance for judging?
If your coil springs are still good you can clean them by glass beading or having them dipped at a ready strip. The sway bars and springs were heat treated .The finish was dark blueish to black. if they are not to rusty dipping will preserve this finish. I have had good luck duplicating this look using metal conditioner and gun blue. practice on your rag joint it has the same finish...Bill
