Re: Wayne, sped right through that one..

    Scott,

A 2 inch exhaust pipe would be 2 inch from manifold to muffler. A 2 1/2 inch system narrowed dowm to 2 inch several inches before the attachment point to the manifold.

All '67 SB's had 2" exhaust manifolds, and all '67 SB's had 2-1/2" exhaust pipes (except 300hp Powerglides, which had 2" exhaust pipes).

            Wayne----

Yes, it should have. I have no idea why it now has 2". I suppose it's possible that it was converted from an automatic to 4 speed at some point in its life.

                Joe,

It doesn't make sense to me either! I can tell though, My wide-ratio is correctly numbered and dated. Also, I pulled everything apart myself and got that 'this has never been touched before' feeling. I'm positive I was the first to loosen the two large 'M' bolts that hold this bracket up to the tranny. Here's a shot of my 4-speed center console, original to the car, and I was also the first to unbolt this. It still has the original carpets with the part #'s glued to the bottoms. Anomaly?
