c1 spark plug wires

have 57 single four, and am considering buying new plug wires
do I have to purchase them thru vetts catalogs like c.c. , dr. rebuilt
aren't 283's all alike and be purchased at a good auto supply
are do the vetts plugs have (special) markings if so what are those characteristics and where have you had good luck aquiring them

The cost is $67.00 from C&C the ends are orange color that's about the difference and not dated.

It all depends what you're after with the wires. If you want exact original in every nuance of detail currently available, then you should buy a Lectric Limited (or, other) reproduction set.

If what you're after is functionality, then you have a LOT more options available. For example, you could buy a Delco plug wire set from any Delco distributor. These sets have the spark plug boot end already installed on the wires; you cut each wire to length and install the distributor end. Delco also makes a wire set which is "plug-and-play". I believe that these are specific to Corvettes due to the special length wires used. I'm not absolutely sure if these are available, or not, anymore, but they're what I prefer.

There's some on EBay right now. They're Motorcraft wires. I believe you can wipe the wires with a lacquer soaked rag to wipe off the Motorcraft writing. $10.
