    C2 speedo cable routing

I recently replaced my 66 manual trans speedometer cable. The replacement cable is about 71" and my original cable was 66". I was not able to locate any shorter cables and most seem to be in the 71" range. The problem I am having is the excess length causes the cable to drop down and rest on the exhaust. Not good.
I have used all the clips on the firewall I can find but I still have excess cable slack.

Has anyone been down this road??

    Randy,
Try to make a small loose loop and hide it under the dash directly behind the speedo.
