I like point because I get to dust off my dwell meter and get back to basics. Too bad my l-75 doesn't have solids. Boy did I enjoy adjusting the valves on the Z/28.
Actually there is a lot of satisfaction that goes with doing your own tuneups and getting it just right. I've started old cars sitting in a field with a little help from a book of matches.... But when the pickup coil goes bad and my brothers Trans-am was cutting out we went crazy tracking it down.
There's good things on both sides of the fence here. Just depends on the individual application.
