Make sure the wiper switch on the dash is grounded properly. If not, it will not work. Had that happen to me one time after I took the dash apart.

You've probably already checked the "limit" switch mounted near the wiper motor that prevents the wiper motor from starting before the wiper door is open but, I'll mention it anyway.

      Good luck

This sounds dumb but I went crazy with my 71 on a rainy day trying to figure out why they didn't work. Then for some reason I turned the knob under the dash and they worked again!

And if I remember correctly the '68 override switch has one connection to the wiring harness and a separate ground. I believe that the override switch needs to be hooked up and grounded for the wipers to work.

Didn’t the switch ground through the wiring harness in later years?

Yes, make sure the override switch is turned to the right and grounded. This completes the wiper motor circut to ground. I used a ring lug placed around my override switch and then routed it to a good ground point behind the kick panel.

Here is a 68 wiper motor wiring diagram.

And while we are at it. That infamous clicking sound that is described when the battery is connected and disconnected due to a battery drain. This is sometimes caused by the wiper tach solenoid engaging when circut number 8 has a malfunctioning wiper gear relay in the wiper motor. Notice the circut comes straight from the battery.
