Re: What size tires for C2
Hal,
Andy is correct, the correct replacement size tires for a 6.70x15 is a 205/75-R15 radial tire. I am running a low dollar 205/75-15 General tire brand blackwall radials on my '64 convertible. I've heard really good things about the Michelin brand Harmony blackwall radial tires also. They are said to be a quiet, smooth riding tire. The revs per mile for the 205/75-15 size tires are comparable to the OEM 6.70-15, less than 3% difference so the speedo should be right on. If you want a whitewall tire there are plenty of them out there in the 205/75-15 size. I don't like whitewalls on C2 Corvettes so I went with the blackwalls. Go to www.tirerack.com and search for tires by size. You should get a pretty good selection to choose from.

Re: What size tires for C2
I recommend a higher speed rated/higher performance tire than a 205/75. This is satisfied by the 215/70R-15, which are available in speed ratings as high as "W". Revs per mile are within two percent of the OE 6.70-15 value of 760. The 5.5" wheel width is a bit narrow, but is within the acceptable wheel wide range.
The Tire Rack web site listed previously is a good place to survey the available makes and models within any size group. Click on "shop by size" and input the suggested sizes.

Re: What size tires for C2
If you're just cruising and don't necessaruly need a speed-rated tire, Firestone has a new "Supreme Si" series of radials, and they're available in the 205/75-15 size in both blackwalls and whitewalls.- Top
