I have a 327/350 '67 convertible. Noticed about one week ago a very whiny, whirring first gear. Today I opened it up a bit and when I shifted from second to third the whine/whir started for good, real loud. Motor ran fine, I even had all the gears. The noise was real loud though, in all gears, in neutral and at idle. I limped home about 3 miles, garaged it and now it won't start. All I get is a whir from the starter. I am thinking ring gear or flywheel gave up. Any suggestions ?
