Re: Bill, where do you find that GM part #?

    Hi Gary,
I found this type clips (plastic-about 1 1/4 long and about 3/16 wide) in the wiring harness of a old Covair in a junk yard last week. They used them in the engine compartment to route the harness around to the alternator.

      Gary,
Try this part number. Dr. Rebuild #2259-211 - 73-75 l48 valve cover clip 4 piece set. It is a plastic or nylon clip that has a curved 1.25 long straight piece with a .25 tab that is feathered to be pushed down on a hole. I used this part on my wiring harness on the front end of my 71 and you secure it in place with black electrical wrap tape. It works great and you cant see it. Get on line and look it up and you will see a picture of it.

        Chasman,

The Dr. Rebuild clip would probably work. I did contract Pioneer Packard and they say that the 2977427 part number is no longer valid, but it has been replaced by another number that I lett at work. At first, I was quoted a price for a qty of 700, but in the end they quoted me a price of $0.18 each, and you need to setup an account to buy them and there probably is a minimum dollar amount for an order. Sure would be nice if Paragon or LIC carried them.

I did the same thing Chas did for my 65. I bought the plastic clips for the valve cover. They worked great and you can't see them once they are installed.
