Funny, mine is May 11th and all black. It sounds like this may have been the transition period when chrome parts started arriving and making it to the shelves.

Yours is probably original as I see from your profile your cars description. For many years now the big time...high dollar restorers have been removing the peeling chrome from original chromed handles and just painting them all black. At all the meets I attended over the years I always looked for the non restored 67's and noted what handle they had and the VIN.number. At major NCRS meets and at Bloomington, restored 67's for the most part, had their chromed handles painted if the chrome was not in good shape........
