    Tach Needle bounce & PV?

Can anyone tell me what an acceptable tach needle bounce would be for a 1967 427/435 to pass the PV?

I am not sure that I even have a bounce. When I accelerate rapidly and/or shift the needle may bounce around 500 rpm or so. When driving at a constant speed or accelerating smoothly the needle is very steady.

If this is aproblem that would fail the PV, are there any suggestions to correct it?

    Thanks.

no bounce at constant idle is what you want. the nature of the cable driven tack will have inherent bounce as rpm increases and decreases.good luck on the upcoming pv. mike
