    57 Water Pump

    Is this the correct water pump for a 57 2x4? The "How to Rebuild Your Small Block Chevy" book has a picture of one that looks different for my year. The numbers on mine are: GM 21 37826(8)09(8) (I can't tell if they are a 6,8 or 9). It would be logical to me that the one I have is a replacement for the older version.

      The casting number is "3782608" on the pump you have. This pump is not correct for any 1957 Corvette. The pump you need to be "correct" is a casting of GM #3736493.

      I believe that the '608' pump could be used for your application as it's very similar to the '493'. However, it's not the "correct" pump/
