be gentle with them , use a something like simple green cut down an just wipe them. if they are real dirty you might use dawn full strength , rember just be gentle when you wipe on them!
I've found spraying original rubber with WD40 then gently wiping displaces dirt/grease, acts to seal external pores, and make the rubber gleam like new again without lifting surface markings....
Whichever product/technique you select to clean the hoses, I would suggest that you first test your process on a small area of each hose that includes a portion of the lettering. If your test produces the desired result on your hose(s), go for it.
