    C-2 Oil Canister

Looking to buy an original oil filter canister for my '66. The seller says it is for a '62. I thought there were 2 styles, 1 for the 50's and the 2nd style for about '62 thru '67.
He says the length is 6 3/4". Sounds right. If it is from a '62 won't it fit my '66???? Thanks for any help

Yes, the 56-57 used a larger can. 62 is the same as 63-67

Check in with Ken Hansen of OrinDales. He did 3 for me about a year ago and they were less thatn 125.00 I'm sure. They are perfect. He can also suply a correct cannister. Don't buy a repro cannister.

Thanks everyone for the confirmation. Yes an original is the only way to go and I do already have Ken's name and have been in contact. Thank again

Other than knowledge regarding originality, what is wrong with a repro cannister? It seems like a rather simple piece of metal that could easily be perfectly duplicated. - Kevin

              Kevin,

I understand they work and look just fine, but made of thinner steel than originals.
