    C2 cowl leak

My 1966 has a water leak on the passenger side. Normal I know.
In my case water drips down the heater AC box and collects right in the center of the passenger foot well. I've located the leak from the approximate 1/8" dia hole in the cowl near the wiper pivot mount. I'm guessing this is a cowl overlap seam that the rivets were missed or have been removed. There are actually 2 holes but water only seems to be coming from one of them. These holes are located right above the sound deadener.

Now what? Plugging the hole(s) I believe will only cause the water to find another path. The water is coming in thru the windshield seal. The seal doesn't appear dried out but I do see an area above the leak where the rubber is pulled away from the glass, about a 1/32". May not be seated properly in this area.

Recommendations? Silicone seal in the gap of the windshield weatherstrip rubber?

    Thnaks

you aren't gonna want to hear it, but to fix it correctly, the windshield glass and seal will have to be removed to uncover any and all perforations. if the leaks been going on for years, there may well be rust(significant) in the windshield metal framing. good luck, mike

-------Mikes right, Randy. The most likely reason that the rubber is pushed up is rust pushing it up. Advice would be; dont let it get any worse!!!........Bill S
