Re: thomas r haskell &'THE LYNNDALE CAR'

Tommy, My Nassau Blue 65 has been in Corvette News (full front and full back covers plus a 4 page spread), Corvette Quarterly, Super Chevy Sunday (twice), Cars and Parts, and Corvette Enthusiast magazines and two Antique and Classic Boat hard cover books. Does that make it worth a lot more? Oh and it is a very rare car----the only one of it's kind.

      Just curious

SORRY ART&ALL OF THE GUY"I MUST TELL THE TRUTH

art it's sad for me to say but all of the older corvettes are not worth what we pay for them !!!!!!!!!!!! even my car , the only vette that maybe worth the $$$$ is the new z06???? based on price to $$ value!!!!!it all comes down to perception of value on a car. who thought a big block would go over 100k years ago??? now theay are neer 150k and soon theay will break 150k then go to 175k ???? and higher fore some l88&l89 yes ?it is like a pice fine art work 10 million 20 million etc etc all it is is wood ,canvis, paint, yes ? but guys now for the good stuff dont worry i wont tell your women that we all over paid for our cars , this is our private place to talk..... sorry art to answer your question there is no mags and stuff like that that add"s $$$$ to a car but it does add perceved value to a car in my mind and that is why we all overpaid for our cars ???

An interesting comparison. In 1982, I paid $10,500 for my 66 425 HP conv and I thought I over paid at that time. I wouldn't be concerned if you have a bit more invested in a nice car today. Prices keep going up.

                Mike,

-------I remember when Jan and I bought ol Blue (1966 Convert) in 1977 or 78. Everybody at work thought we were out of our minds paying ten grand. Yes, time is the great equalizer, and we have had it to drive and enjoy all these years as well. It was an easy decision...........Bill S

Re: SORRY ART&ALL OF THE GUY"I MUST TELL THE TRUTH

The best part was everyone telling me that I should NEVER have purchased a big block, especially a 425 HP, because they're never going to be valuable. I guess 63 FI coupes and AC 65-67 SB cars were still all the rage at that time. How things changed!

I well remember when Jan picked me up at the airport in the Laguna 66 car in about 1978. I loved that car immediately, and I know she did too. Rare combo. Glad to hear you still have it.

Just my personal opinion but I always felt 66 BB was my all time favorite to drive. (63's are just to look at in the garage)

Micheal --Stopped by Stretch's shop yesterday (Wifey had shopping to do in Naperville) and reminded him of that '65 396 at Jack Douglas, w/o brakes. I also told him that i have sold off my last corvette and am getting out of the hobby, cuz I have gone blind. He did like the red Sebring convertible that wifey was driving me around in. He had bought one like it for his daughter.

Quite serious. I have a condition known as Macular Degeneration. five percent of Americans over 70 get it. In June, my eyesight went from 20/20 to 20/200, which certifies as legally blind. I may no longer operate a motor vehicle, legally. It is really quite difficult, both physically and emotionally. Just typing this message requires glasses that are +4 diopter and I have a screen magnifier of another 4X.

That does sound serious. What are the options? Can this be corrected? Think I'll look this up on the internet, just to learn a little about it.
