Re: Unknown part in my 1968
It looks like one of the fiber optic boots from either the front right or left turn signal. There should be an amber lens in it and the fiber optic cable plugs into it. I might be wrong but that is what I think it is. Terry- Top

Re: Unknown part in my 1968
Hi Geoffrey
One question: Do you have any trouble with your neighbors or your family?
Best way to keep a Corvette driver busy (and of course out of the house) is to place some oil drops or strange parts under his car ...
Just kidding ;-))

Re: Unknown part in my 1968
Weird. I know my 68 very well. The only thing I don't know is an air car. Hmmmmm, sort of has me going. Well, it will give me something to think about when I am at work today.
Could it be used to protect the threads of a screw? There were some of those on 68's. If your car is a convert? Could it be some sort of bumper for that/rear deck lid? Hmmmmm...
Take care, Terry- Top

Re: Unknown part in my 1968
Geoffrey,
If you look at the assembly manual UPC 12, B4.5 you will see attached to the back of the tach a valve part of tach asm that has 3 vacuum ports, which 2 have tubing attached to....my bet is your mystery part is the cap for the third, unused port.- Top
