    Re: Right on Brother Dick!

Who would want to own one of those boxy, skinny tired, motorized head light door, fire breathing monsters anyway?

I personally can't wait to start chasing vacuum leaks and splicing the fiber optics

Production twins to say the least Daver.

Of course mine will have to do the heavy looking on from the "Sportsman" area while your's is flight judged.

I'm curious as to your options package Dave.

My coupe's only fluff option is the AM/FM radio.

Other than that, it's a 327/300, M-20, 3:08 posi, no power steering, no power brakes, no A/C, black vinyl interior base car.

I think your coupe's fluff is more like:

                  M20 - optional wide-ratio four speed
                  G81 - optional Positraction 3.08 rear axle
                  U69 - AM-FM radio

Most forget, the 4 speed wasn't standard, but an option. I bet it has a tinted windshield or maybe all glass is tinted, both of which are also options.

Re: Your right Mike add the tinted windshield

It's been in the garage attic so long I forgot about it.

Wow!, I guess I DO have a fancey Vette after all

I thought this was headlight posts, not b'days

I just looked at mine, which required pulling the covers off the lights, and they are a stem that sticks out, then a cylindrical piece where the screw goes through. Is this what you are looking for?

Why not post the pictures on a website and have us vote as to A or B which we have?

The easiest way in the world if you don't have Village Photos or some other photo site is to go to http://www.geocities.com and make a page.

Get that windshield back in the car, it is time to DRIVE it, not talk about it.

                          Re: Phewwwwwwweee Mikee!

You don't know what your asking.

                          Big picture things to do:
                          Core support re-built
Engine assembled, set in frame, exhaust attached and test fired
Body Stripped, dropped on chassis, doors hung, nose re-attached, head light buckets re-installed
Engine compartment re-wired and vacuum related re-installed
                          Gutted cockpit re-wired and re-assembled
Brake system buttoned up and bled
Haul to dealership for total alignment and final ride height suspension adjustments
Body work, prime, test drive and paint
                          Chrome re-attached, Glass re-installed, weather seals/strips installed

Those are just the biggies not counting the dreaded F.U.B.R. issues

Figure I'll have it ready by June.........of 07......maybe.

Twins in a lot of ways. Same basic car as yours except for 327/350 with transistorized ignition, M21, 3.70 posi, and power windows. Big block hood happened somewhere along the way, though body work forensics suggest it happened a long time ago. Trim plate says vinyl but leather is staged to go in after I re-wire the coke bottle. Even though I am limiting non-stock items to easy bolt-on's, I'll be in the "Sportsman" area with you my friend as I have this car just for the fun of it - not anything else. Drive 'em if ya got 'em

Re: Helluva expensive hot rod huh Dave?

Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think that I would be pouring these kinds of bucks into an original appearing Corvette "Hot Rod"

I could of built me a Cobra kit car with a Vette driveline for less than what I've paid out so far on "Baby" and I'd be driving it RIGHT NOW!

Daddy always said that I was a glutton for punishment so I guess the circle is complete

I'm with you on this. Frame up with seemingly replacing everything I put a wrench to has had me second guessing myself more than once, but....it is a what I like, wanted, and will ultimately be proud of....plus look at the education we got as a result of the process!! With the tops out, cruising the backroads, we won't remember any of this
