Yeah, that's what I thought you meant! Anyway, after studying the lift vs. cam angle data on the 30-30, I have to agree that the .023" setting is optimal as far as reliability of the valvetrain is concerned. This will probably NOT work for cars with power brakes, or fuellies, because of vacuum issues. Granted, the tight setting will compromise midrange torque somewhat. I decided to compromise by setting at .025". I like the way she performs with that setting. I like the peaky torque curve. "Comes on the cam" very hard at about 4500 and keeps on pulling past 7 grand.........a real thoroughbred! I'll probably take Joe L's advice and install a set of Crower Sportsman rods, soon.
