Re: L88 specs
Mark and other members, I still have my NHRA engine specification guide which was compiled by Farmer Dismuke (then national tech. director). These spect.'s were compiled from the information sent to NHRA by the manufactures, As you know all the factories were involved in drag racing at that time. My pages go from 1950 to 1974 which is when I sold my race track. It is all computerized now and you have to buy the pages that you want for each engine. I probably have 500 or 600 pages of information. If somme one has a question I can look it up for you. Maybe I can payback some of the help I have recieved. Dale- Top

Re: 10.sec. L88
According to the Nov. issue of Hemmings Muscle Machines, the blue car is owned by Wayne Nelson of Minnesota. It ran 10.97 on bias ply tires at Lebanon Valley Dragway in May. He is running a 454 bored and stroked to 511 cu. in., 350 turbo hydramatic, and modified independent rear axle. The engine makes 650 hp at the crank, with 14.3:1 compression ratio.
The picture in the mag shows it with a set of Firestone Wide Oval tires. I can't imagine how he ever gets it to hook on those things!
