    Re: Shipping charges on ebay.

$26.00 for shipping that item is messed up. I used my common sense on the shipping charges and didn't bother to look. Next time, I will use the shipping calculator because of the extreme rip-off factor. The "press" I am trying to give him is this....."Dear fellow NCRS members, don't let this happen to you as it did to me." Screw me once, shame on you....screw me twice, shame on me. Sorry if I offended anyone but that is sort of how I look at it. I would like others to avoid this and be aware of this guys ploy. Regards, Terry

      Thanks for the info!

I didn't know about the discount to NCRS members.

        Shipping Cost

The new way of shipping I got caught in the seller charges actual shipping and handling. He drops your parts off at the package and ship station and thats what he charges you nothing added. I have not sold on E-bay but this sure would cut down the time spent packing and shipping. I now need to ask if the sller is putting it in the box and taking it to UPS as thease people are not cheap. Do you think this is against E-bay rules?

I don't know but it is a buyer beware world out there. I usually look at a persons ebay rating. I believe that speaks pretty well for itself. I have done a lot of transactions. Every once in a while I run into something goofy. This was a new one for me. I think ebay has all it can do just counting their money. Terry

            Re: Shipping Cost

Shipping on ebay is simple. If you even think of buying from a seller who does not post a flat rate up front, email before you bid. Simple. If it's too high, don't whine, just forget it. Posting "actual shipping charges" doesnt always work because some people literally take their stuff to a service like Mail Boxes, Etc and pay to have the item packed and shipped, and expect you to pay for it!
I have had well over 600 transactions and Ive learned I always post a flat rate up front. $8... $10... $15... whatever; Double to Canada just for the extra costs and paperwork. Sometimes I'm a dollar or 2 low and I lose it. Sometimes I'm a dollar or 2 high and it pays for bubble wrap, tape and gas. At any rate, people always know exactly what the shipping will be before they bid.
It's ridiculous to expect people with real day jobs to pack up an item, drive down to UPS or the Post Office, get a quote, then come back and tell the seller what the "actual" costs are before they buy. No way.
