    '67 A.I.R. for Canadian Tree-Huggers only

And my records show ONE delivered up here; a black/red vinyl coupe with 02K19GB, and the GB suffix translates to ECL code K19 with L68, M20 or M21, and C60. This car has the close ratio.

I believe this option was mandatory for California, but nothing jprevented others from ordering.

How would you know if you have a car

How do you know if you have a car that was sold in Canada but brought back to the U.S.? Just check the information above?

After September of 1977 it will have a metric speedo/odometer. That is when metric was imposed on Canada.

If you call George with your VIN, he'll tell you if it was delivered new in Canada; if it was, then you can buy the documentation.

Re: How would you know if you have a car

Hi all, I live in Canada and I happen to have a 1960 Canadian Export Corvette that I have researched through the "GM of Canada Vintage Services" located in Oshawa,Ontario, Canada. I first contacted them in November, 1990 and was sent a package of material. One of these pieces was a microfische copy of the "Car Assembly Record- General Motors of Canada Limited" for the Corvettes that were imported into Canada in the 1960 model year. It listed: Date Shipped, Shipping Order No., Serial No., Date Produced, Trim Colour No., Paint Colour No., and Dealer No. This listed the 1960 Corvettes that were exported to Canada carrying serial numbers #105 to 7766 on the page I have. They also sent me the information that only 63 Corvettes were exported to Canada in the 1960 model year. My car is serial number #512. This was prior to them sending an owner a GM letterhead page listing the particulars on just your car. I did call them and ask for more specific information on the options, etc. but they said that they do not have that information prior to 1964. So for all of the C1's they have no individual option information.

I again contacted them in November, 1995 and was able to obtain copies of the "General Motors of Canada Ltd. 1960 Chevrolet Passenger-Imported Models Suggested Maximum Retail Delivered Prices" for the 1958, 59 and 60 Corvettes.
Also the "General Motors Products of Canada Ltd. -Oshawa, Ontario Production Options- 1960- Chev.-Corvette Passenger Models- Dealers' Confidential Price List" All of these lists are dated, as the one for the 1960 Model year is "Effective October 2, 1959". As you may or may not know, all of the Canadian prices, base price as well as options were all higher priced than Corvettes sold in the US. For example, the base 1960 "Suggested Maximum Advertised Delivered Prices At Factory-Oshawa was $5303.00" Canadian Dollars. There were also some odd differences in the prices and options listed for 58-60 such as we did have to pay extra for the "Glycol Based Antifreeze". But an odd thing for the 1960 year was that there was no charge for the two tone paint, but did have in 1958 and 1959. This information from General Motors of Canada is very informative and interesting. There is quite a lot of paper work difference between a US sold and Canadian Export Corvette and not a lot of owners know. I feel very lucky having one of these cars and also having the documentation from GM of Canada.

Re: How would you know if you have a car

To add to what Jim has said about C1's, there are several NCRS members who were lucky enough to ask GM Canada for information on a C2 before George Zapora arrived on the scene. These lucky people received copies of full pages of 65,66 or 67 VIN numbers showing exact options, dealer numbers, key codes, and more for each VIN number listed on the page. So if you can determine your C2 VIN was originally sold in Canada(from George Zapora)all this information may be available to you....not through George Zapora.....but from another freindly NCRS member.
