    C2:67 Mechanical Clock Adjustable?

Anyone know if a mechanical clock for a C2 is adjustable. Have been replacing the quartz movement on mine, with my original movement. Here they are side by side:

I bench tested the original with a battery charger over last night, and found that it is running about 2 minutes slow in 9 hours. While I have it apart, I was just wondering whether there is a fast-slow adjustment.

I remember years back that it did always run a little slow, and that's the reason I put the quartz movement in it. Maybe it's just the nature of the beast.

Jerry, isn't there something in the owner's manual on this? I am struggling to remember the 66 manual I had a few years ago. IIRC, you turn the clock backwards 12 hours to adjust some small amount, perhaps a minute or so? CRS is striking here.

      Jerry,

That's just they way they run. I have a NOS unit in mine and have to set it every time I drive the car. I called the rebuilder and they said if you want it right put in a quartz. Now the instructions say move the clock forward to adjust speed, this did not seem to change anything on mine. Good news I have my old garage neon clock right in front of where I park my car to reset the clock each time I leave.

Jerry, EACH time you adjust the clock MORE THAN about 5 minutes without letting the stem go back, the clock will adjust its movement slightly in that direction. So if you lose time at a rapid pace (or run fast) try adjusting the reading in at least 5 minute increments and then keep track of the change over a 24 hour period. It'll take a few attempts but you can get it pretty close. I believe this procedure is in the owner manual.

Has not worked for me, as I said, I set my clock forward 15 times a month, by more than 5 minutes each time. In two years this procedure has not increased the speed on my clock at all. I keep hoping it will but I've given up. This includes setting my clock forward during the short time where I would disconnect the battery each time I drove it, as a cheap anti thief device. Then again could be just my movement. I’ve deiced it’s part of the charm of my 30 year old car. In fact I went back to a mechanical movement to be able to hear the solenoid wind.
