Never answer them , but if you think you need to, GO to E-bay sight ONLY using your pass word and from there click ACCOUNTS and check it out that way.
      I never answer E-mail from e-bay only IN e-bay when I'm there.

Re: same thing with pay pal

The email address in the original email is much longer than jst the underlined part that is in my post. When I roll my mouse over the original email address, the actual email address appears at the bottom of the page, totally different than what shows on the page. Looks like a different language and some of the words apear to indicate it's from some prison? Crimei? Organizate? Incearca?

I guess they have nothing better to do and I'm sure it pays off at least occasionally.

I just changed my password, just to be sure.....

I get the phony PayPal deals all the time but there are usually so many words misspelled that it's obviously a scam from abroad.

Good idea. Now, all I have to do is figure out how to do that. Is it just me or is their site more confusing by the month? Every time I get it figured out, they change the entire system.

I agree with Rick. You should.....

without opening the e-mail, forward it to spoof@ebay.com or spoof@paypal.com and they will reply informing you that it will be investigated. Jim

Thanks Jim. Just did that and already received the reply from ebay. I have to wonder how many times these weisels are successful. Bet the percentage is high.

Mike, I imagine they must do pretty well with these scams. They don't stop.

If you ever replied to a e-mail that said it will be secured ,once you click on look to see if the http:/ address at the top corner changed to https://
The "S" is saying it's a secure sight, a scam sight will not show that.

                          Hi Mike and everyone else.

A few months ago I also recieved e-mails from E-bay and Paypal saying your account has been suspended or it would say we need to update your information. Please provide information. Credit card number, 3 digit number and pin number. I contacted both e-bay and paypal and they said they NEVER ask you for that information. They asked me to forward the e-mails. They said it's someone out there trying to get your money etc. Everything on the screen looked official. If anyone gets this type of e-mail, contact e-bay at spoof@ebay.com

                          John

They are looking to get your email password, ebay or paypal password. Once they have your email password, they can log on to your email account, send a "forgot my password" message to various accounts your may have(even outside of ebay or paypal), read the return message and go from there. It's like identity theft.

I stupidly answered one once, and then had to change all my passwords.

Just forward all requests to log on and give information to spoof@ebay or spoof @paypal.
