    "Last '67" 427/390 Engine Photos

Couldn't access my photo host site last night, but it's OK now - photo below is the left side of the "Last '67" engine (Nabers restoration), and the link below will take you to the right side.

Certainly no expert, but it looks nice.

Whenever I saw Bill Mock's ad in years past, I thought to myself.. "Self.. that would be a great car to buy" but naturally a price north of 200K always had a way of slapping me back into reality.

I don't know TM and have never deal with him, but I give him credit for dreaming up a creative way to finance the car's restoration.

I'm sure I'm probably one of the only people that appreciate the way the exhaust manifolds are painted but I approve 100%. That's just exactly what they looked like when the new engines were set in the chassis at the Mill in 1967. As soon as it runs for 20 minutes and the runners turn chartreuse from heat, it will be perfect.

            Keith,

I'm probably missing something but, other than the fact that it appears to be a bit too long, I don't see anything wrong with it.

Were A/C hoses with yellow lettering & numbers used by the General?

Nice, but I dont see why the last one is any more valuable than the first one or one in the middle.

Only to a collector as something no one else can get. It is much the same way as the first '53 Corvette, the first '63 Sting Ray, the first '68, the last St. Louis Corvette, the last '82, the first C4, the last convertible (1975 white w/red), etc.

If you measure value as smile per mile, then it is the same as the rest, except after spending that kind of money, it might take a lot of miles before I would smile again.

At least Terry restored the car! Mock let it sit for years and did little or nothing to this car except ADVERTISE IT!

                            He made $200k.
Sounds to me like Mock was the smart one.

I never said Mock was not "smart", just that he did little or nothing to the car except advertise the car. For all the crap everyone shovels on Terry, he does set the market and has restored several significant cars such as this 67.

I did not see a "hobbyist" step up with over $200K for this car in unrestored condition! At least Terry does not care how much money Mock made on the car. He only cares how much he will make.

See, this hobby is still all about the money!
