'67 rubber inner fender splash shields...
two questions...first, the shields were stapled from the inside of the engine bay, with the two staple points out towards the wheel well, correct? Second, the smaller rectangular front and rear shields have two debossed lines running horizontally across them. Do these lines face towards the engine or out towards the wheel well?
I've looked everywhere with no luck. Thanks in advance, PTTags: None- Top

'67 rubber inner fender splash shields...
Patrick,
I've just submitted an article to the Restorer on GM-created "damage" to the fiberglass area just aft of the passenger's side upper A-arm on '66 cars and I have a number of photos of '66 and one '67 that show a portion of the area that you talk about, viewed from the tire side. In these photos I don't see any indication of the lines in the small rear, rubber shield that you talk about, so I'm guessing the lines must be on the engine side, if there are there at all.

Re: '67 rubber inner fender splash shields...
Thanks everyone. Yes, the '67 Judging Manual does specify 2 horizontal lines that you can see and feel on these four small splash shields. It's gonna be lot of work getting these stapled on tomorrow and I don't want the Judge to tell me later they're installed wrong! PT- Top

Re: '67 rubber inner fender splash shields...
Can anyone tell me the dimensons of the shields? When installed properly how far up on the body are they or in other words how much of the shield hangs past the body?
It is hard to tell in the assembly manual but at least the say how many stables to use. Thanks- Top
