    C2 polarized electrical system

    Hi
I did something stupid, I hooked up my battery cables backwards and polarized my electrical system and the gauges are pinned to the right. I hear there is a way to reverse it. Can anyone help?
    Thanks Tony

Connect the battery correctly and try starting the car. Often, 'pegged' gauges, if not internally damaged, will self-correct. Also, the movement in these gauges is typically a needle bearing (vs. jewel or ball bearing) and when pushed beyond its dynamic limit will 'hang' in that position from simple friction.

GENTLY rapping/tapping on the case of a 'hung' gauge will free the point needle on its needle bearing and the correct electro-magnetic bias of the car running will put 'er back into action again.

BUT, this isn't a guarantee that you haven't 'fried' this/that gauge or that a given gauge is hung so badly that you're going to have to remove it and manually push the pointer back to it's normal position...
