By the way, I am pretty sure I saw your car at a Seaside, OR regional (parked outside) a couple years back, but this was before I owned a Vette and before I joined NCRS. I was just getting into Vettes and trying to figure out what I wanted.

Dave, I will let you in on a little secret. If you contact Al Knock, he will sell you several new tags. If you notice on your year, the tag goes under a little flap of top material before it is stiched through. If you take a razor and trim the tag behind the flap then you can stick a new tag on just for judging, and then pull it off right after the show. These tags do not wash very well either! If you go to an office supply and buy one of those glue sticks that look like a chapstick tube, you can put a little glue on the edge of the tag and stick it under the flap, and nobody will ever know. It sticks pretty good, but you still can pull it off without too much effort.

I put on a new AK top and after I got it on I wet down the top and car. I toweled it off to dry. I found the stupid sticker in the towel. It must have lasted all of 15 minutes.

I think the white vinyl hardtop looks great over Marina Blue.

It's been on the hardtop since 1974, and I'm gonna have it redone back to white vinyl, correct or not. The Marina Blue hardtop made it look too much like a coupe (heavens), and black vinyl on top of Marina Blue is just blah.

But when it judges next, I'll go with the convertible top. Is there anything wrong with a white convertible top over black standard interior?

I got got points off for my Al Knock tag last time I had it judged at Waco because it is not made of paper like the originals were.

Thats what the home boys do, leave the tags on their hats. They also leave out the laces on the sneakers and no belt on the pants. Just as delivered...to the slammer.
