    Gold Line Tires.....65' Corvette

Has anyone seen the NEW Coker, Gold Line "Super Sport" bias ply tire??
Is it "correct" for NCRS judgeing? I went to Coker today and they "claim"
that they are 100% "correct" and will pass the test!!
    Also....
I am looking for an original power antenna for my 65'.
Mine has been bent and I would like to have another on hand. Any info would be appreciated. I do not want a reproduction.

    Thanks,
    Lane

I heard some talk at the Indiana Regional about Coker offering tires without the DOT on them. Are these it?

Yes, the Super Sports are available without DOT markings. They are sold as "show only" and not for street use, in order for them to be sold legally. I have not closely examined the Super Sports repro, but others that have stated that there are differences. The Goodyear goldlines are more accurate but have the DOT marking. So you will likely take a small deduction either way. That is unless you do some careful surgery to remove the DOT markings from the Goodyear

I have an original Super Sports spare tire for comparison.

        Lane,

--------A bunch of us looked at those Super Sports at Carlisle last year and couldnt believe that Coker was claiming that these tires were exact duplicates. Closer to the originals than before,,,,maybe! Put an original next to thier tire and the 100% claim falls apart quickly. The construction appeared to be way different. Its the details that count and we didnt feel that they had the details down at all.........Bill S

OEM Glass in IL. for original power Antenna's. Without a core expect around $700. They only do complete rebuilts for around $525 meaning they sell no parts such as cable.

Thank You All for your response.
Seems Coker needs to do a bit more work on their molds I guess.

It doesn't cost a dime more to make the molds "correct"; you have to wonder why they make the investment in new molds and don't bother to consult with someone who knows what the real thing looks like in order to make sure the product is indeed "judging-correct" to ensure a solid marketing position. Maybe the same guy did that one that does their "orange" goldlines.
