Re: heater coolant flow
Flows through the engine, out the top hose, into the core and back into the engine through the water pump.Dick Whittington- Top

Re: heater coolant flow
And coolant flows out of the intake manifold through the 5/8" hose to the lower heater core nipple, through the heater core, then out through the upper nipple and 3/4" hose to the fitting on the water pump.- Top

Re: heater coolant flow
John,
Is this as true for the '58 configuration? I'm ready to hook up my heater hoses after 24 years. Thanks for the help!

Not quite - 58's used 5/8" hoses for both the supply and return hoses; the 3/4" hose for the return line didn't start until 1959.- Top

Re: heater coolant flow
Thanks John! I'll check my hoses to make sure they both are 5/8's and connect them as per your description in the post above.
