Removal of Water Spots

What is the most effective way to rid my car of water spots?
I came across a multitude of these all over the body of my '70 just recently.I can only attribute them to possible lawn sprinkler as it has never been out in the rain.It is a 2 year old professional lacquer paint job in Donneybrook green with a coat of clear on top.
I gave it a go using Meguiar's No.2 by hand application,but still circles evident.Is there a preferred product out there?
What are my best options to get rid of these?
At what point do I seek a shop to do it?I'm extremely frustrated with this.

Try 3-M Finesse It. Hand rubbing usually works.

In a bad situation I have used "lime away." But try a clay bar. I have hear that they will pull them off. Lucky for you the clear coat is there. Terry

Try some of the auto detailing sites.
I known that autopia-carcare.com addresses the subject. Go to home page, on left side select "Detailing How-to" then "Paint Polishing Clinic" 1/2 way down. Under that screen is a section called Water Spots - read that. Note it mentions the white vinegar method.

I Agree With Clem.....

..... The white vinegar should easily remove mineral deposits (water spots) from the paint surface without removing any paint material. If not, it's possible, or likely, the spots are actually coming from within the color or primer. If the primer surface was washed with hard water and allowed to sit/dry with water drops, the lime rings that result will eventually work their way back to the surface of the paint. I know this to be true..... from experience, unfortunately.
