        old wives tail or the truth?

        thought i read or heard some where that if a GM clock was running fast or slow you waited until it was an hour off and spun the hour hand until you were at the correct time and it would do it based on 1 minute for every hour the hour hand was spun---if the clock is 12 minutes fast, spin the hour hand back 12 hours to correct the movement---the same with a slow movement but spin it foward---this info might be in an owners or service manual or just an old wives tail

            That's what it says in the owner's manual, but I've never seen one that actually responded as they're supposed to.
