My 57 in the mountains of Western North Carolina in 2003. Drove with a road tour from Oklahoma to Nashville for the 50th Anniversary then on to North Carolina.

We did take some back roads on the road tour but not quite this "back".

This is the road past my sister in law's house about five miles from Cherokee, NC.

We went through Rock Mountain National Park on the way to Park City, about 12000 ft altitude. Made without any problems.

I live in Hudson NC Verle. It's between Hickory and Boone on Hwy 321. Thirty minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway. PaPa Smurf is nearby too. Your white 57 and my red 56 would look great cruising together on these back roads. Common by.

Believe it or not, this all original, factory new and correct, was soon to be a driver. As soon as it gets seats in it and a few other things.

This was on Saturday after picking it up in a snow storm on Wednesday back in '77. There's nothing like Goodyear Wide Tread F70-15 tires to give you that awe inspiring confidence when the snow is rubbing the floor pans and you are not seeing anyone on the road other than the friend who brought to to pick it up 50 miles from home.

By Saturday, the temperatures were up to something like 50, the snow was disappearing, and I made a trip to the car wash to clean 50 miles of slush and salt off of it.
