Re: Spark Plug Wire Length 327
I don't have all my notes Jim, but for '63 at least, cyls 1-3-2 were all the same length, the next longest is 4, 5-6 are the same length, 7 and eight are different and shoult be easy to pick out by the fit.Bill Clupper #618- Top

Re: Spark Plug Wire Length 327
Jimmy --- you don't mention what year, and I assume you are referring to "with U69". Noland's Vol 2, page 166 (1963 section) calls (for L84, w/90 degree boots) cyls # 1, 2 and 3 @ 45.7 inches (centerline-of-terminal to centerline-of-terminal. Cyl # 4 unique @ 42.3". Cyls # 5 & 6: 28.8 inches; Cyls # 7 & 8: 24.2 inches long.
Chev P & A 30 catalogs in mid-'60s for 327's are not much help, other that to show '63-64 w/F.I.; cyls # 5, 6, 7 & 8, all 28" with 90 degree boots. All other catalog dimensions refer to big blocks.- Top

Re: Spark Plug Wire Length 327
Just did this. And I kept the instruction sheet. And I was able to find it.
1. 49.0"
2. 49.0"
3. 49.0"
4. 45.0"
5. 32.0"
6. 32.0"
7. 28.0"
8. 26.0"
The number above is the cylinder number. The length is that of the wire, terminal end to terminal end. Note the terminal end of the plug end is the centerline of the boot. The sheet says all lengths are +/- 1/2"
This is for 1958 to 1974 small block Corvettes (and Chevies).- Top

Re: Spark Plug Wire Length 327
Jimmy,
I'll add a little bit to the confusion. For my '58-'60 283. (which ought to be the same) here's what the "Lectric Limited" folks say:
1-48.5"
2-47.5"
3-48.5"
4-45.0"
5-30.5"
6-32.0"
7-28.0"
8-26.5'
When I actually measured them, some deviated from these measurements by as much as 2 1/2"- Top
