Does not surprise me that a salty Seebee was able to trade a Renault for a Corvette. ha ha. I did the Caswell thing on a 69 frame off I did but it was hit and miss. My thoughts were to give it another try but getting rid of the waste in Key West is problematic so repo or plating are my only two options right now.
The car is in the body shop getting new rear qtrs and jigged frt end so once I get it back and body off I can give it a better look over and see what my best options are.
My goal is to have it judged once I'm done and if it's worthy of a Top Flight I will be happy, if it's not than I will also be just as happy because I have done all the work myself (except body and paint).
After that, I'm going to drive it like it owes me money.- Top

Re: How to restore hardware
Hmmm.
So, if one does the Caswell system at home (and let's ignore the wife factor for a moment) in theory we could take the freshly replated fasteners, bake them as described, give them another quick wash and we'd be set???
That sounds like a deal if true. I think I'd finally be sold on home plating.
