Re: Al Knoch
I puchased a set 25 years ago and when I went to install them they had no wiskers so I sent them back to Al for installation . I believe they cost me another 150.00 to get the wiskers, not to mention that they said they were not "Theirs". I had the receipt and everything, they must have been a set of his early reproduction panels but Al Knoch would not claim them................I bought them from him at Bloomington when it was Bloominton, Ill. The quality is very poor!!!!......

As long as ancient history is
part of the discussion, ninteen years ago I bought a complete interior for my '55 from Al Knoch. My only complaint was they sent me everything I ordered, except the crash roll for the dash was yellow instead of green, even though the ones for the doors were green. I'd have to say the parts were an excellent fit.. Of course, they may be better, or worse, now.- Top

Re: As long as ancient history is
In my opinion Al Knoch has gotten alot better than he was years ago. Probably one of the best fitting interiors i ever installed- Top

Re: Al Knoch
I've seen "Al Knoch" door panels on Ebay from different vendors but the way their discription sounds they are selling seconds. Personnally I don't believe Al could be in business as long as he has if he DIDN'T sell quality items. Would ANY of our workmenship be the same or better as it was after 25 years experience? I would think most would hope it's better. Just my opinion and you know what they say about them.- Top

Re: Al Knoch
In my association with a small restoration shop about 20 miles from me, the sole employer/owner has indicated that he will only use Al Knoch interior pieces because of the higher quality than any of the other manufacturers. The individual I am referring to does SUPERB work.
As you read through different judging manuals, you'll see references to different original trim parts not fitting well on reproduction panels, etc.---that's why I make sure I ask around before ordering a specific piece or part that is available from more than one manufacturer (and of course from more than one vendor). Your query is wise.- Top

Re: Al Knoch
I have to say, that the al knoch trim pieces that i had ,was a few years ago ,and from what i have seen at shows as of late ,that both al and corvette america are making very good interiors ,like one said they have both made improvements.JR- Top

Re: Al Knoch
I have recomended Al Knoch many times. But I will have to say that I will think twice before doing it again. I have a small problem that I have called on twice, and the girl that answers the phone says someone will call you back.I have E-mailed them twice, no answer. If this is thier idea of service after the sale, I have to say we disagree. I will probably not buy from them again.Service is more important than price, and sometimes as important as quality, especially if you can get equal quality somewhere else..I have a couple interior jobs comming up and I think I will try someone else this go around...- Top
