For what it's worth.... I had a bad fit problem with Al Knochs carpet a year or so ago. It required a LOT of t******* and cutting to get it right.

        Huh!
passengers side floor rug was giving me problems on a 63. Were your problems in the same or different area?

Had a problem with the leather seat covers inner foam. Some random spots got hard and turned to powder. Offered to sell me new covers at cost.

Guess it's a matter of who provides the best service most of the time vs all the time.

            Ed,
The problem I am having (66 conv) is a severe bulge at the top of the footwell in the area behind the gas pedal. As you can see from the photo, it seems to be pre molded in the carpet.

I just encountered this same thing this weekend on my 67 (also red). I was able to heat gun it out and it was smooth when I glued it. But when I installed the accel. pedal last night it "tightened up" and came back.

I had a problem with too much carpet between the gas pedal pad and the location of the brite light switch and how it squared (or I should say didn't) I ended reinstalling the carpet from the front-back . I installed the gas pedal on the carpet where I knew it should go... used glue at that point. From there I stretch, pulled and cut the carpet until everything was covered. Lucky for me they furnished an unually large piece of carpet for the drivers side. It looks to me that you have a slightly different problem then I had. Different problem... same sloppy work.

There must have been a fit problem with the the original front carpet at the gas petal area because all original sets I have seen have a vertical cut about 4 inch long under the gas petal were the carpet is over lapped to make it lay flat.
                  Hope this helps

When you call Al Knoch ask for Dale, he has taken care of problems for me and has always called me back. Are the problems you guys are having from direct purchases or bought through a vendor?

I'm getting a sinking feeling I'm in for a surprise when I open the box of '63 SWC carpet I bought back in '76. From these posts I'll find what I find...Regards Frank

Try Al's brother Wally. I think Wally sells Al's pieces with some sort of a discounted price worked out. I have never spoken to Wally or Al regarding this but it seems I have read this before. My entire interior has been replaced with Al's stuff but I catch him directly in Old Town.

I have heard a time or two that al gets his carpet from auto ac of america or auto custom carpets, and that he doesnt make his own carpet.
