Just picked up the GM flouroelastomer rear main seal and have a few comments/questions.
First, the package does NOT contain the little plastic shoe-horn. Is this only used on the neoprene seals or is it also recommended for the flouroelastomer unit as well?
Secondly, the supplied GM instruction sheet says to be careful to keep sealant off of the ends of the seal. Should sealer be applied to the mating ends of the flouroelastomer seal in addition to the bearing cap mating surface?
Lastly, is it a good idea to rotate the seal a few degrees (3/8 in) so the mating halves of the seal are offset from rear bearing cap mating line?
Thanks
