Chuck-- We did indeed set a record. I don't know what happened to the URLs on this board, but the web-site is http://member.aol.com/olgeezr/cars.html The brief paragraph on The Blue Flame is about half-way down the page. We had a true, two-way speed of 622.407 mph -- and this with a sick engine. But we beat Breedlove, and our design patent was copied by Bill Fredericks for the Bud car a few years later.
I was being facetious about rocket science -- but it was indeed rocket-powered.
And we had a small hope for MACH 1 -- I feel that the car, refurbished, could have done it. But, speed did not sell in the early '70s; we could not get financing to go back and set the record higher. Geezer.Comment
