Re: Could my trim tag be wrong?
I love these detective stories...I reference the Automatic transmission section of the Assembly manual and look for all of the telling signs to make sure they are all there, then I do the same thing for manual transmissions...there are so many different parts that I can't believe someone if they changed the car, would not miss it especially back to 1977.
My 64 is an Oct 29 build....
Things that come to mind with AC and automatic have a lot of different components...I am thinking of radiator support, the console shift pattern with emboss. the clutch pedal assembly. The frame with its clutch cross shaft tower. Backup light option and wiring/switch. The vacuum fitting on the intake, the wiring harness differences. I am not sure on the driveshaft? I am wondering if ther eare any brackets rivited in the tunnel specific to AT versus manual also what does the firewall look like where the clutch rod passes through with the rubber boot?
It seems to me you can quickly see if ints an anommaly or a forgery.
